Indigenous Connections
Andrew is an Indigenous man who grew up in Katherine, NT. He has been able to trace his family history to part of the Djerimanga country, also known as Wulna. This country consists of 1,200 square miles on the coastal plain where the Adelaide River debouches into the Timor Sea. CollNT are committed to a positive future for the Aboriginal community.
The team share a passion for training and mentoring Indigenous people and want to provide opportunities and guidance to them, so they too can feel proud to be a contributing and valued member of the community. We undertake partnerships with training organisations that offer students who have completed the certificate in construction, work placements alongside our tradesmen to encourage and support their career goals. Students who display enthusiasm, reliability and genuine interest in the Construction Industry are able to potentially gain a Carpentry Apprenticeships with CollNT.

CollNT currently contracts to Ventia, delivery Estate Upkeep across NT Defence Bases. CollNT staff are a versatile and formidable team, with members having varied qualifications in areas such as carpentry, electrical, mechanical, mobile plant operation, painting, refrigeration and landscaping.
We strive to utilise local companies and work within local Indigenous communities to engage labour and resources. The team share a passion for training and mentoring Indigenous people and want to provide opportunities and guidance to empower the community and invest back into the Northern Territory.

ANDREW COLLINS
Founder & Director
Andrew’s pride in his heritage as an Indigenous Territorian adds a unique perspective to his work and business. His extensive experience and connections in the civil, mining, and construction industry, combined with his Indigenous background, make him a notable figure in the NT’s business landscape.
Andrews comprehensive understanding of the Industry was enabled by having begun as a Carpenter moving fast paced into Project Manager, from practical construction work to strategic planning and execution.

JOHN BRAIN
General Manager
ohn’s extensive experience as a qualified Carpenter in the Construction Industry for over 35 years makes him a seasoned professional in his field.
With this profound understanding of the requirements and expectations specific to defence projects, John’s expertise becomes essential to CollNT. Being able to cater to the particular client and stakeholder requirements in this industry is crucial for successful project execution, and John’s knowledge and insights contribute significantly to the company’s capabilities and reputation.

STEVEN THOMAS
Electrical Contractor/Project Manager
Steven has a diverse skill set and experience in multiple areas, specifically in electrical and fire-related fields. With his involvement in various projects, his expertise in these industries has grown extensively.
Steven also possesses specific knowledge related to Defence infrastructure and installations, which are crucial in secure and sensitive environments like defense bases.

MELISSA COLLINS
WHSEQ & Contracts Manager
Melissa’s diverse skills and qualifications across Human Resources, Work Health Safety, and Quality make her a valuable asset to CollNT. Her expertise spans across various areas, allowing her to contribute to different aspects of the company’s operations.
Her recognition as a finalist at the NAWIC Northern Territory Awards for Excellence in 2023, specifically in the category of “Achievement in Health, Safety, and/or Environment,” highlights her outstanding contributions and dedication to promoting a safe and environmentally responsible work culture.
